🌼 About the Retreat

The Hive Within is a free, 3-day wellness and self-discovery retreat designed to empower high-school girls (ages 14–18) through natural skincare, mindfulness, creativity, and nature-based wellness.
Our mission is to provide a safe space where young women can grow in confidence, develop inner strength, and connect with positive female mentors.

This retreat blends:

🍯 Natural skincare making

🎨 Creative arts & expression

🧘‍♀️ Mindfulness & confidence building

🐝 Optional hands-on beekeeping (with a safe alternative activity)

This unique program is facilitated by two women-owned, Philadelphia-based organizations: Natural Body Essentials and Half Mad Honey.

🌿 Who Can Participate

Girls ages 14–18

Residents of the Carroll Park / West Philadelphia area

Teens interested in beauty, wellness, creativity, nature, or personal growth

No experience is needed. Everything is provided for free.

A Glow Kit (herbal steam blend, sugar scrub, and body oil)

🐝 Retreat Activities

✔ Natural Skincare Workshop

Learn how to make herbal steams, glow oils, sugar scrubs, and more using clean, natural ingredients.

✔ Creativity & Nature Arts

Hands-on activities using herbs, flowers, dyes, and natural materials.

✔ Mindfulness & Self-Care

Journaling, guided reflection, affirmations, and emotional wellness practices.

✔ Confidence & Body-Positivity Activities

Girls learn self-esteem, personal expression, and group bonding.

✔ Optional Beekeeping Experience

Led by Half Mad Honey
Protective gear provided. Teens may opt out and join the alternative activity.
